You’d think Senator Alex Padilla’s name was just added to Mount Rushmore based on how often Democrats have shrieked about the “horrifying” event surrounding him this week. Ever since the now- viral clip of Padilla being escorted out of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) event – after reportedly skirting security – hit the internet, the left has entered full meltdown mode, demanding investigations and resignations.

Let’s be clear: if you crash a secure event, there should be consequences – yes, even for Democrats. You don’t get a trophy and a free photo op – you get removed. That’s called basic security.

And here’s the brutal truth about why that should be the SOP (standard operating procedure): if you let one person (even a senator) waltz past Secret Service and other security, then soon everyone thinks it’s open mic night at all Trump Administration pressers and events. That’s how bad things happen. Really bad things. The kind where headlines start with “tragedy” and end with “was preventable.” So yeah, no thanks.

Instead of acknowledging the very real and justified need for security – especially after recent threats against Republican lawmakers – Democrats are busy trying to turn California Senator Padilla into a folk hero (or maybe a future Democratic presidential candidate).

Meanwhile, when it comes to actual global security issues, like Iran threatening to turn Tel Aviv into dust, guess who the lone voices are on that? Not surprisingly, it’s Squad members and resident anti- Israel firebrands Representatives Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar who are blaming the Jews for the recent Iran/Israel conflict.

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

Meanwhile, their fellow Democrats can’t be bothered to address the escalating chaos in the Middle East because they are too busy whining about Padilla, cheering on the return of an MS-13 gang member into the country, and throwing anti-ICE and anti-Trump protests across the country. Case in point: the clearly orchestrated “No Kings” spectacle, which seemed designed for one petty purpose – comparing turnout numbers with the Army’s celebration parade in D.C., as if trolling the president is more important than national security.

Here’s a radical idea concerning Padilla: maybe Dems should focus less on one guy getting escorted out of a press conference and more on the things Americans actually care about. Spoiler: it’s not protecting illegal alien murderers – or transgenders participating in girls’ sports.
